Pandemics have always had an influence on the production of art. This program focusses on music from about 500 years reflecting the suffering from plague and other epidemics in cantatas, arias, funeral music, dances and popular songs. In the end all of them share the same message: the commitment to life!

  • Baroque in Minimal Sound: The Finnish Baroque Orchestra in the Elbphilharmonie
  • musicAeterna and Teodor Currentzis return to Berlin
  • The Oberon Trio and Ian Bostridge present a variety of alley hits at the Mozartfest Augsburg
  • The new recording by Coro Ghislieri and Giulio Prandi will be released on 08 October

Oberon Trio presents world premier!

The Oberon Trio will be performing two programmes at this year’s Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele!

On Saturday 19 June, the trio will present its programme #Duality with works by Joseph Haydn, Robert Schumann, Toshio Hosokawa and Aaron Copland – “Strongly recommended”, was the verdict of GRAMOPHONE on the CD recording.


“Loneliness” – a theme that has taken on a new dimension in times of pandemic and that has inspired artists throughout the ages to write special works, including Franz Schubert, Clara Schumann and the young composer Julia Purgina, whose Trio musique noire IV will be premiered at the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele on 20 June.
