Richard Wagner&#8217;s <em>Siegfried Idyll<\/em> marks new repertoire for the <strong>Freiburg Baroque Orchestra (FBO),<\/strong> which, under the musical direction of <strong>Sir Simon Rattle<\/strong>, approaches this masterpiece through the lens of historically informed performance. The rest of the programme is devoted to two cornerstones of the nineteenth-century repertoire as well: Beethoven&#8217;s Violin Concerto in D major and Schumann&#8217;s Symphony No. 2.
